There is something that I have always loved about sunlight shining through venetian blinds ... and specially onto the pages of a book that i'm reading.  It is comforting, calming, relaxing.  I was sitting here this afternoon reading book 2 of the Lumby series by Gail Frazer when the sun decided to come out for the first time in three days and it felt so good!!  Here is what it looked like



I love light and shadows .. but that's the artist and photographer in me.  I just loved it!  And if you haven't read or heard of the Lumby books ... you've just GOT to read them!  It is supposed to be a small town in the North West and if there really was such a town as Lumby I would definitely be living there, so if any of you ever find it .. please let me know .. but first you need to read the books.  The first one is "The Lumby Lines" about a small town and its 'newspaper' if you can call it that, and all the rich characters that live there, and all the silly things going on there, and all the love and deep respect.  It is an amazing town and the books will make you laugh a lot and that's a good thing!  I am now reading "Stealing Lumby" and it's getting really good.  The next one is "Lumby's Bounty" and I'm looking forward to reading it and all the other Lumby books.  If you're looking to read a 'feel good' book ... this is it!  I wish they would make a movie out of it or better yet, a weekly TV show.  I'd love to 'visit' Lumby every week.  But I also loved it today with the sun streaking across my book and feeling the warmth on a very cold day.  Today I wore my winter coat for the first time in a couple months ... it was that cold! But a week from now we'll be back up in the 60's again.
